On November 19, 2025, students and faculty from Fudan University's core curriculum course "Biotechnology and Human Society" visited RNACure for an immersive educational experience. Through facility tours, technical presentations, and in-depth dialogues, the students gained firsthand exposure to the cutting-edge breakthroughs in mRNA technology and witnessed China's biopharmaceutical innovation journey from laboratory to industrialization.
Fudan Roots, Deep Industry-Academia Integration
Dr. Lu Jing, co-founder and CTO of RNACure, warmly welcomed the Fudan delegation. She noted that another co-founder of RNACure is Professor Lin Jinzhong from Fudan University's School of Life Sciences. This deep "Fudan connection" and the ongoing close collaboration between RNACure and Fudan University since the company's founding immediately bridged the university-enterprise distance.
Hardcore Technology: Unlocking mRNA's "Code of Life"
Dr. Lu guided the students through the mRNA sequence design platform, LNP delivery system laboratory, and quality control center. Using vivid metaphors, she explained complex technical principles: "Our LNP delivery system is like a 'smart navigation' system that precisely guides mRNA drugs to target cells in the body."
In the automated production area, students observed world-leading high-throughput synthesis equipment capable of parallel synthesis and screening of hundreds of mRNA sequences daily, demonstrating the "China speed" of modern biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
Innovation Story: China's mRNA Journey
Dr. Lu shared the R&D journey of the company's core pipeline RQ3013, describing how the RNACure team started from scratch to break through foreign technology barriers. "Six years ago when we started, China was catching up from behind in the mRNA field. But we persisted in building from the ground up in underlying technology R&D," she said.
Today, RNACure has built an internationally advanced mRNA vaccine development platform, once setting a record of completing the journey from sequence design to candidate drug screening within three weeks. Regarding equipment localization, Dr. Lu revealed that the domestic production ratio of key equipment has exceeded 50% and continues to rise.
Empowering Education, Cultivating Interdisciplinary Talent
The visit was a key component of Fudan's "Biotechnology and Human Society" practical teaching curriculum. Lead teacher Yu Yao noted that visiting innovative enterprises like RNACure breaks down the walls between classrooms and laboratories, allowing students to witness the complete chain from theoretical concepts to social applications.
RNACure remains committed to advancing mRNA technology exploration and translation while actively promoting life science education. The company will continue to deepen cooperation with top academic institutions, contributing to China's biopharmaceutical industry innovation and talent development.
